A pneumatic tyre comprising a tread portion (2) with tread edges, a pair of sidewall portions (3), a pair of bead portions (4), a carcass (6) extending between the bead portions (4), a belt (7) disposed radially outside the carcass (6) in the tread portion (2), characterised in that said tread portion (2) is provided on each side of the tyre equator with axial grooves (11) extending axially inwardly from the tread edges, said axial grooves (11) are inclined to the same direction with respect to the tyre axial direction to form a nondirectional tread pattern, and the inclination angle of the axial grooves (11) with respect to the tyre circumferential direction is decreased from the axially outer end to the axially inner end thereof, so as to have a minimum inclination angle of less than 45 degrees, and a maximum inclination angle of from 60 to 85 degrees. <IMAGE> |
