<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To notify warning to a person who inputs information when any excessive pressure is applied to a display picture, and to prevent the erroneous detection of the coordinate positions of a pointer when the input of rays of lights beyond the light reception tolerance of the sensor of a light receiving part is detected. <P>SOLUTION: This coordinate inputting device is provided with the detecting part of sensor units 1R and 1L formed at the corner parts of a coordinate input area 4, a recursive reflecting member 3 formed in the peripheral part of the area 4 for recursively reflecting incident lights, the light projecting part of the sensor units 1R and 1L for projecting the rays of light to the area 4 and a control/arithmetic unit 2 for calculating the coordinate positions in the area 4 of a pointer based on light quantity distribution obtained from the detecting part. Whether or not any part which is not more than a predetermined threshold exists in the difference distribution of respective light quantity distribution in a status that any pointer does not exist in the area 4 and in a status that the pointer exists is preliminarily checked, and when any part which is not more than the first threshold exists in the difference distribution, it is notified that any excessive pressure is applied to a display picture. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
