<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an image forming element array capable of providing image forming light of high quality by suppressing flare light scattered by a light shielding part. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming element array 10 comprises: image forming elements each consisting of 1st lens surfaces 1-1, 1-2, ..., provided on one surface of a transparent body 5 in a nearly triangular prism shape, 2nd lens surfaces 2-1, 2-2, ..., provided on another surface of the transparent body 5, and roof prism parts 3-1, 3-2, ..., in an optical path between the 1st lens surface and 2nd lens surface, the plurality of image forming elements being arrayed in the prism core direction of the transparent body; and light shielding parts 4 which shield light transmitted between image forming elements and are provided between the image forming elements. Herein, the light shielding part has a shape for suppressing the occurrence of flare light caused by reflection.
