PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a router unit realizing telephone call switching between an IP telephone and a subscriber telephone or between IP telephones. SOLUTION: A router unit (100) includes at least a connection port (102) to a subscriber telephone network 2000, a connection port (101) to the Internet 1000 such as ADSL or CATV and a connection port (103) to an existing telephone set 10 and realizes a telephone call in IP telephone services or over a subscriber telephone network. The router unit includes a function for notifying a incoming call communication network to a user when a new incoming call is received during a call using a telephone set, and a function for performing telephone call switching between the IP telephone and the subscriber telephone or between the IP telephones.
