WATER-DISINTEGRABLE ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY MACROMOLECULAR BLEN MATERIALS AND THE PROCESS FOR PREPARATION THEREOF

The present invention relates to a new water-disintegrable environmentally friendly macromolecular material formed by blending fine particles of water absorbing resins into polystyrene material and the like, said material will disintegrate into powder in a certain rate or lose its intensity when meets water. The present invention also relates to two kinds of methods for preparing the material. The first method is the blend polymerization method by adding fine particles of water absorbing resins which have particle sizes of up to 5 µ m and initiators into styrene monomers and the like followed by polymerization. The second method is the reverse phase-two phase polymerization method by agitating monomers which will become water absorbing polymer after polymerization, such ais oil-soluble monomer like styrene, sodium acrylate, and methylene bisacrylamide, with water, initiators and W/O type emulsifiers, forming W/O type emulsion, then carrying out polymerization. The material of the present invention has the advantage of simple preparing method, low, cost, water disintegrating rate in control and etc, it can be in place of disposable packing materials such as disposable lunch boxes, foamed polystyrene which pollutes environment heavily and is hard to be recycled at present, etc.
