PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state laser apparatus which can sufficiently reduce thermal double refraction and can simultaneously improve the quality of laser beam. SOLUTION: The solid-state laser apparatus 1 comprises a rod 2 formed of a solid-state laser medium, a mirror 3 provided at one end side of the rod 2, a mirror 4 provided at the other end side of the rod 2 to generate laser resonance and to emit the laser beam by forming a resonator in combination with the mirror 3, and a plurality of LD arrays 6 for exciting the laser medium. Each LD array 6 has a plurality of semiconductor laser beam sources 7, the light source 7 is arranged in the direction toward the side of the mirror 4 from the side of the mirror 3, and, when a plurality of light sources 7 in the predetermined sequence from the side of the mirror 3 in each LD array 6 in order to surround the rod 2 are assumed as a set of light source group, a plurality of light source groups are arranged along the longitudinal direction of the rod 2 in the manner that the focal distance L of the rod 2 becomes larger when it goes toward the side of the mirror 4 from the side of the mirror 3 while the rod 2 is irradiated with the excited light beam from the light source group of each set.
