PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Fabry-Perot laser which is capable of compensating a gain reduction, based on the temperature change of a channel created by a wavelength locking and which is easily manufactured. SOLUTION: The Fabry-Perot laser, for generating the wavelength-locked channel having the same wavelength as an optical wavelength injected into the inside, is provided with a semiconductor substrate, a lower clad layer 220 formed on the semiconductor, an active layer 320 which is formed on the lower clad layer 220 and where a band gap distribution is continuously changed, in accordance with a longitudinal direction of the semiconductor, and an upper clad layer formed on the active layer 320 and the lower clad layer 220.
