PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure a two-dimensional magnetic characteristic taking stresses about various kinds of magnetic materials into account. SOLUTION: A long plate-like sample 1 is arrangement-fixed x-directionally, a pair of excitation yokes 2 is arrangement-fixed to be opposed y-directionally each other in both sides of the sample 1, and excitation coils 3 are wound in both ends of the sample 1 and the respective excitation yokes 2. A hole is formed in the central area of the sample 1, and a B-coil is provided to be wound orthogonally with a formal wire along respective directions in several turns in response to the sample 1. An H-coil 5 wound with an Hx-coil orthogonally on an Hy-coil using the formal wire on Bakelite (R) is arranged in an upper side of the sample. An external force imparting means 6 capable of imparting selectively an optional tensile load and a compression force onto the sample 1 is provided in longitudinal-directional one end of the sample 1.
