PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaporator having good heat exchanging capability. SOLUTION: The evaporator comprises a heat exchange core part 4 provided with a plurality of heat exchanging tubes 9, a refrigerant inlet header part 7 and a refrigerant outlet header part 6 arranged on one end side of the heat exchanging tubes 9, and a refrigerant inflow side header part 7 and a refrigerant outflow side header part 8 arranged on the other end side of the heat exchanging tubes 9. This heat exchanger is configured so that the inner space of the refrigerant outlet header part 6 is partitioned into two spaces 6a and 6b by a resistance plate 26 for flow diversion, and the heat exchanging tubes 9 are connected to the refrigerant outlet header part 6 to face the inside of the one space 6b, and that a plurality of refrigerant passing holes 27A to 27D having different shapes and/or sizes are formed in the resistance plate 26 for flow diversion. Added to the outer surface of the refrigerant outlet header part 6 are identification marks 28A to 28D discriminating the positions of the refrigerant passing holes 27A to 27D and indicating their shapes and/or sizes.
