METHOD FOR CONTROLLING A FUEL HIGH-PRESSURE INJECTION SYSTEM SERVING AS A COMMON RAIL INJECTION SYSTEM, AND A FUEL HIGH-PRESSURE INJECTION SYSTEM

The invention relates to a method for controlling a fuel high-pressure injection system (1) of a combustion engine (2), whereby the fuel high-pressure injection system (1) comprises at least one fuel high-pressure accumulator serving as a fuel rail (3). To this end, fuel is fed by a motor-mechanically coupled fuel high-pressure pump (4) into the fuel rail (3) and is then fed therefrom to controlled injection valves (10) assigned to each cylinder. At least one controllable heat element (12) is placed inside the fuel high-pressure accumulator (3) for heating the fuel in a controllable manner. For starting the combustion engine, the invention provides that, before the combustion engine is started i.e. when the fuel high-pressure pump (4) is not yet running, the fuel inside the hermetically sealed space of the fuel high-pressure accumulator (3) is pre-heated by means of the at least one heating element (12) in order to effect a thermal pressure build-up in the fuel, after which the engine start-up is activated. The inventive method can be carried out by means of the fuel high-pressure injection system (1) serving as a common rail injection system.
