A panel (1) formed from at least one wood section (2) bonded to at least one optically transmissive section (3) formed from an inorganic material, preferably formed from a thermoplastic (3), characterised in that the bond is formed by a solvent applied to the surface of the thermoplastic transmissive section (3) and a waterproof wood adhesive applied to the surface of the wood section (2) prior to clamping the sections (2,3) together.
