A method for rapid intermittent dispensing liquids, e.g. Adhesive stripes, has a pneumatic dispensing valve (10) in a dispensing head connected to liquid and compressed gas ducts. In order to achieve a rapid dispensing rate with a minimum of inertia the pneumatic valve is directly controlled by a solenoid valve (25) mounted close to the pneumatic valve, i.e. with a minimum of trapped pneumatic volume. The pneumatic valve operates against a return spring and the solenoid valve has a variable control, related to the applied voltage, to vary the dispensing rate. |
