An ergonomic support for an automobile seat includes a pivoting bolster (30) on a mounting rod (14). Behind the bolster is a slide rod (16). A lever (38) is disposed between the bolster (30) and the slide rod (16). The lever (38) is pivotally attached (39) to a medial position of the bolster and the lever is slidingly engaged with the slide rod (16). A traction cable (62) has a sleeve (64) mounted to a bracket on the mounting rod (14) and a wire (66) attached to the lever (38). Traction on the traction cable moves the lever, which causes the bolster to extend.
