<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent condensation on the surface of a range hood and the flow passage section of contaminated air by removing moisture (steam) contained in the contaminated air occurred due to cooking with a cooking utensil not generating combustion gas and by perfectly purifying the contaminated air. <P>SOLUTION: This range hood is provided with a dehumidifying means 23 for removing moisture contained in the contaminated air generated in cooking by the cooking utensil not generating combustion gas, and a Peltier module as the dehumidifying means 23 is arranged such that the contaminated air contacts a heat absorption section 231 provided by energizing. The heat absorption section 231 is made a condensation generation section of the contained moisture. The energizing direction to the Peltier module is reversed operatively associated with the operating/stopping of a blower 12 and the heat absorption section 231 is converted into a heat radiation section 232 for a predetermined time period.
