<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a server and a communication support method which enables high precision selection of users having similar interests or tastes for an item. <P>SOLUTION: Item identification information for the item used by the user and user identification information on the user used the item are stored as use history information, and use frequency information showing use frequency information indicative of use frequency for every item of each user is formed, based on the use history information. The score of the each user for placing each user in an information space, reflecting taste similarity to the item is calculated, based on the use frequency information. The other user, having the score with a small difference in the score between the other user and one user, is then selected as the user having the high taste similarity to the item, by using the calculated score of the each user. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
