PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a magnetic recording medium capable of efficiently and surely manufacturing the magnetic recording medium having an adequate flat surface and formed with a recording layer formed of a specified irregular pattern. SOLUTION: A nonmagnetic material is filled to a recessed part of an irregular pattern in such a manner that a body 10 to be worked is irradiated with a particle of the nonmagetic material from the direction relatively inclined with respect to a normal line 10A of the surface of the body 10 to be worked and also the body 10 to be worked is rotated around a center axis 10A inclined with respect to the irradiation direction 52 of the particle of the nonmagnetic material.
