The connecting end has outwardly protruding webs designed like membrane bellows to fit together with gas-tight seal. A tubular connecting part(11) is placed in the inner diameter of the special pipe element (12) and the two are welded in their contact zone around the entire outer circumference so that a circular welded seam (14) is formed which at the same time closes the open band layers which are formed by the separating cut. An additional second region of the welded seam connects the circular region to the outer diameter of the membrane bellows type structure on an unbroken line thereby joining the open-ended layers of the outer membrane bellows together.
