<p>A method of manufacturing an electrical contact with a crimp ear (10) from a flat ribbon of conductive material (12) including applying a force to the ribbon (12) to form an adjacent pair of approximately semicylindrical depressions (14) on opposite sides of the centerline (16) of the ear (10), shearing the ribbon (12) at the depression bisectors (20) to form a pair of legs (22) on opposites of the centerline (16), and forming the legs (22) into a predetermined shape about the centerline (16). Forming the legs (22) includes straightening the legs (22) and bending the legs (22) to the appropriate predetermine relative angle. Optionally, the ear (10) is coined. Optionally, serrations (30) are inscribed across the ear (10).</p> |
