<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection type display device capable of restraining the change of design to the minimum even in the case of various display panels having a different size effective display area without lowering illumination efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: In the projection type display device equipped with a light source 1, a rod integrator 3 and the display panel 7, aperture members 4 and 5 having a reflection area around an aperture area are arranged on the incident surface and the emitting surface of the rod integrator 3. Then, a plurality of aperture members having the different size aperture area in accordance with the size of the effective display area of the display panel 7 are prepared for the aperture member 5 on the emitting side, and the aperture member 5 is selected in accordance with the size of the effective display area of the display panel and attached to the rod integrator 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
