PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten time required for fixedly joining a holding member 2 and a fixing board 3 in an apparatus 1 for adjusting the amount of projection to improve efficiency of working hours by making a length 8 of a grinding stage projecting from the holding member constant when a ferrule with a metal fitting is to be fixed to the apparatus. SOLUTION: The apparatus 1 for adjusting the amount of projection having the holding member 2 including a means for holding a rod-like member 6 mounted on the fixing board 3 for adjusting the amount of projection on an end surface of the member 6 has the fixing board 3 and the holding member 2 detachably fixed by magnetic force.
