PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cover plate having high rigidity by adding a preload in a process where the plate is fitted to a base member, and to provide a disk drive equipped with the cover plate and a manufacturing method of the disk drive. SOLUTION: The cover plate is provided with a main body of the cover plate 112 to which a preload is added and an assembly unit for fitting the main body of the cover plate to the base member of the disk drive. The main body of the cover plate having a twisted shape is fitted to the base member 111 and the preload is added to the main body of the cover plate while being formed into a flat shape.
