ELECTROPLATED STEEL, AND ITS PRODUCTION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electroplated steel which has excellent corrosion resistance and, is further excellent in adhesive properties with a resin and water repellency without using chromium as a harmful metal at all. SOLUTION: In the electroplated steel in which a plating layer composed of an alloy of zinc and cobalt is formed, an alkoxysilane compound is bonded to the surface of the plating layer. In the plating layer, silica particulates are dispersed into a matrix consisting of the alloy of zinc and cobalt, so that the bonding properties of the alkoxysilane can be made more satisfactory.
