[Also in Division C3] A heat recoverable article, which may be in the form of a tube, is provided with a heat source which, upon actuation, is capable of raising the temperature of the article to an extent sufficient to cause recovery but insufficient to damage the article. The article preferably comprises a polymer having elastic memory. The heat source preferably comprises at least one material capable of undergoing an exothermic reaction which may be dispersed in the article at its outer surface or attached to the outer surface of the article.
