<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object detector by which an object is detected with high accuracy and at high speed by analyzing one picked up image by means of a plurality of object detection techniques to select an analysis result based on the reliability of the analysis result. <P>SOLUTION: The object detector 1 comprises a plurality of object position detection means 50, 60, 70 having object analysis means 51, 61, 71 analyzing the position of the object in the picked up image to form information on the object position; reliability value calculation means 52, 62, 72 calculating a reliability value representative of the reliability to the analysis result; object data generation means 53, 63, 73 generating object data, including the reliability value and the information on the position of the object; a data selection means 81 selecting the object data based on the reliability value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
