<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which efficiently prevents a copy of a bad quality from being made in a copy mode without corresponding to the kind of document due to erroneous designation of the copy mode by a user. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus discriminates the kind of the document and determines the copy mode corresponding to the kind of the document. Then, the apparatus compares the determined copy mode with a copy mode designated by a user. When they are matched with each other, the image forming apparatus makes copies in the copy mode designated by the user. When they are not matched with each other, the image forming apparatus lets the user to confirm the copy mode again, and carries out copying in the copy mode ed by the user. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
