<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate a jam treatment in an inversion unit. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 10 comprises: an image forming apparatus main body 12 having a recording device 20 which transfers an image to paper P; a fixing unit 36 having a fixing device 44, which communicates with the image forming apparatus main body 12 and fixes the image transferred to the paper P by the recording device 20; a conveyance path 96 for conveying the paper P, which extends from the image forming apparatus main body 12 to the fixing unit 36; and the inverting unit 64 having an inverting conveyance path 98, which inverts the paper P with the image fixed thereon and supplies it to the recording device 20. In the image forming apparatus 10, the inverting unit 64 can be separated in a first unit 68 into which the paper P with the image fixed thereon is conveyed from the side which is downstream of the fixing unit 36, and a second unit 70 from which the paper P conveyed from the first unit 68 is conveyed to the side which is upstream of the recording device 20. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
