<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration of printing quality by removing the effect of a rotational error (fluctuation of circumferential speed) caused by one-tooth pitch of a gear directly coupled with an image carrier. <P>SOLUTION: In an image write-in means, a plurality of light emitting element arrays are provided in a subscanning direction to form a line head, and multiple exposure is performed by a plurality of light emitting element arrays. When it is assumed that the length of the light emitting element array in the subscanning direction is L1, the length of one-tooth pitch of the gear directly coupled with the image carrier is L2, and a constant k determined according to the outside diameter of the image carrier and the diameter of the pitch circle of the gear directly coupled with the image carrier is k, L1>(kL2)/2 is satisfied. In such a case, the images Ga and Gb caused by the fluctuation of the circumferential speed are canceled and consequently the image having nearly the same shape as a normal image G is formed on respective pixel lines Sa to Si. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
