<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a writing instrument which does not require a detachable cap. <P>SOLUTION: Rubber tube is placed on the tip section of the core of a writing pen with a refill which can be ejected and retracted. The tip section of this rubber tube is reversed inside out so that it is attached to the outer cylinder section of the writing pen. Thereby, the reversal part of this rubber tube seals the vicinity of the tip section of the core of the writing pen. When the core of the writing pen is projected from the outer cylinder section, the rubber tube comes out and the tip section of the core of the writing pen is exposed.
