<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for analyzing a microorganism community by which the state of the microorganism community in the ecological system can easily be grasped. <P>SOLUTION: The state of the microorganism community is gasped by collecting microorganisms present in a test object area, extracting nucleic acids from the microorganisms, amplifying a prescribed sites of the extracted nucleic acids, subjecting the amplified nucleic acids to a separation treatment by using a modified high-performance liquid chromatography, and analyzing the results of the separation as the test object area. A region encoding 16S rRNA, or the like is preferable as the prescribed site of the nucleic acid to be amplified. The detection of a causative bacterium of pollution in the ecological system, the evaluation of the relation between the concentration of CO<SB>2</SB>in sea water and the microorganism community, the detection of a causative bacterium of decay, or the like is carried out as a more concrete example. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
