<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently purify PM and NOx using a liquid reducing agent while efficiently accelerating the activity of the agent. <P>SOLUTION: An NOx occlusion reducing type first catalyst A, a second catalyst B as the so-called filter catalyst and an NOx occlusion reducing third catalyst C are disposed in order from the exhaust gas downstream side toward the upstream side in an exhaust gas passage to which the liquid reducing agent is supplied. The reducing agent can be enough gasified, softened and made uniform by the third catalyst C and the second catalyst B, and since the gas temperature is raised by reaction, remarkably high NOx purifying capability can be exhibited by the first catalyst A. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
