<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic dictionary capable of obtaining an example sentence, a phrase, and an idiom corresponding to a word similar to an inputted word in spelling even if the spelling of the inputted word is in error. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic dictionary is provided with an input means for inputting characters of the word, a word storage means for storing the content of the word inputted by the input means, an information storage means for storing information corresponding to the spelling of the character string of the inputted word, a spelling check function which when the spelling of the character string is in error and information corresponding to the character string is absent, detects information corresponding to the character string of a spelling similar to the erroneous spelling, and a display means for displaying the word and the information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
