PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat detecting apparatus for reducing connecting locations between pressure sensors provided with a plurality of pressure sensing resistors and detection circuits and properly and reliably detecting the occupied state of a seat by a simple detecting and controlling constitution. SOLUTION: The seat detecting apparatus is provided with pressure sensors 10 having pressure sensor 6 distributed and disposed in the seat, connected in series and comprising the pressure sensing resistor Rs whose resistance is changed in response to pressure and a fixed resistor Rc connected in parallel, and a discriminating part 20 for finding a load applied to the seat from the resistance of a plurality of the pressure sensors 6 connected in series in the pressure sensor 10, and discriminating the occupied state of the seat based on the load.
