PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a conventional cutting-off machine, in which a cutting-off machine body having a saw blade, is supported so as to tilt upward and downward, causes a large shock when the cutting-off machine body has arrived at the upper end position by being rapidly returned by an energizing force of a spring for returning the cutting-off machine body to the upper end position, and as a result, there is a fear of damage of a tilting support section, and the operability of the cutting-off machine is low because a user must slowly return the cutting-off machine body to the upper end position while pushing the cutting-off machine body in order to avoid the shock. SOLUTION: The cutting-off machine is configured so that a resistance is given to the upward motion of the cutting-off machine body by giving a rotational resistance to a tilting support shaft for tiltingly supporting the cutting-off machine body upward and downward with respect to a table by means of an one-way type rotary damper. By this configuration, the shock in the upward movement of the cutting-off machine body can be reduced without spoiling the operability in the downward movement of the cutting-off machine body.
