A machine tool has a loading device (44) which is a component of the machine tool (40). The loading device (44) comprising at least one loading arm (35) which can swivel around a swivel axis (36) and on which several receiving elements, especially grippers (32) for receiving work pieces, are spaced in a longitudinal direction of the loading arm, which in their spacing as measured in the extension direction of the loading arm (35) are variable by the loading device (34). An independent claim is also included for a method for driving a machine tool with loading device.
