The handlebars are of tubular material, and have a central clamp section and two free ends. Each end has a fastener unit for handlebar accessories, e.g. bar ends (20), or an impact protection pref. of plastic. Each unit consists of a clamp device with a fixed part (2) and a moveable part (10), which are tensioned relative to each other. The fixed part engages partly into a grip end (1). Fixed part and grip end are connected, esp. welded (7) to each other. The fixed part has a central threaded bore (5), coaxial with the grip end, and a screw (13) passing through the moveable part passes through the bore.
