A switching power supply arranged such that a voltage detecting section provided on the output side of a power supply circuit is connected with the negative input of an error amplifier in order to amplify the error between a detected voltage and a reference voltage, output of the error amplifier is connected with the negative input of a first comparator and connected with the negative input of a second comparator through a division resistor, a filter circuit is connected between a rectification switch and a commutation switch, output of the filter circuit is connected with the positive inputs of the first and second comparators, and a control means is provided to control the amplitude of a triangular wave from the filter circuit so as to fall between one input level of the first comparator and one input level of the second comparator. Stability can be ensured without lowering the frequency band of an error amplification signal. A switching power supply realizing stabilized output ripple characteristics can be provided.
