<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a card recognition system that is structurally simple and easily accommodates both a nonconforming card and a conforming card. <P>SOLUTION: The card recognition system, which comprises a plurality of connectors and a conforming card control part for recognizing a conforming card conforming to standards, comprises a nonconforming card control part individually assigned to two or more connectors to cause the conforming card control part to recognize a nonconforming card nonconforming to the standards as a conforming card, and an assignment control part for, when a nonconforming card is connected directly or indirectly via an adapter to one of the two or more connectors, interposing the nonconforming card control part between the connector to which the nonconforming card is connected and the conforming card control part, and prohibiting the assignment of the nonconforming card control part to the other connectors of the two or more connectors. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
