<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electronic equipment capable of positively safely running the diagnostic operation of the equipment using general-purpose IFs, and to provide a key device. <P>SOLUTION: In an image forming device 10, a CPU 11 is allowed to function as a diagnosis means and a diagnosis authentication means for the equipment.
