INPUT METHOD USING INPUT DEVICE, AND INPUT UNIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input method using an input device for the severely handicapped, and a private input unit.

SOLUTION: The input method uses a personal computer, the input device and a program for displaying characters and symbols. A user views a specific position 8a in a selection display part 8 distinguished by a character size, color or the like from surrounding characters and symbols, and if the character or symbol in the specific position in the selection display part is not a desirable character or symbol, presses arrow keys on a key button input part 4 to cause several vertical and horizontal movements and selections until the desirable character or symbol appears in the position and decides on it with a decision key on the key button input part 4. If the decision is a mistake, it is canceled with a cancel key on the key button input part 4. Pressing the decision key displays the character or symbol in a decision display part 9 of the personal computer.
