<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enlarge the setting extent of a cutting width without changing the constitution, that is, without widening a groove in which the cut part of a bundle of sheets falls, to expand user's degrees of freedom in the case of cutting the bundle of sheets, and to improve the user's operability and the productivity of the whole system. <P>SOLUTION: A trimmer 600 attached on the sheet discharge side of the image forming apparatus is provided with carrying rollers 603, 605, 606, 611 and 612, a cutter 607, a pressure plate 609, a stopper 614, a pusher plate 610 and a stack tray 621, etc. When the set cutting width exceeds a reference cutting width, the set cutting width is divided by a trimmer CPU circuit part 6100 so that each cutting width, after the dividing process may not exceed the reference cutting width and also each cutting width can be the mean width, and the bundle of sheets is shifted to each cutting position according to the divided cutting width, and then the cutting operation is performed by each cutting-width. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
