<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide general methods and compositions directed to the use of molecular probes to selectively stain the microorganisms or cells in combination with selective capture of microorganisms or cells using binding partners and directed to the field of detection, assay and/or determination of microorganisms or cells based on mixture probes and of those based on binding partners. <P>SOLUTION: The methods and compositions can be applied to sorting and/or determining objective microorganism(s). When sorting is selected, the sorting is performed by use of coded beaded supports or use of arrays.
