IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD, APPARATUS AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain information useful in the detection of a ventilation anomaly region of lungs from an X-ray projection image of a chest. SOLUTION: An alignment means 110 aligns an air inhalation image P1 when air is inhaled by the lungs and a gas inhalation image P2 when non-radioactive xenon gas is inhaled by the lungs wherein these images are X-ray images of the same chest. A difference image creating means 120 creates a difference image Su1 showing the difference between above-mentioned two aligned images. The information indicating the ventilation anomaly region is shown in the difference image Su1 in a state wherein anatomical noises from bones etc. and an artifact resulting from misalignment of the subject due to posture variation thereof are suppressed.
