PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system wherein the reliability is secured and the safety of an apparatus for indirectly grasping survival confirmation, safety and relief of a user is enhanced on the occurrence of a power failure. SOLUTION: The communication system is provided with: an information terminal 9 including an information collection section 11 for collecting apparatus information related to an apparatus via a wireless medium, a registration section 12 for registering the apparatus information obtained from the information collection section 11, and a communication processing section 13 for connection to an external network; an information processing server apparatus 23 capable of carrying out transmission / reception with the information terminal 9; an information communication line network 19 or a telephone line network 20 for interconnecting the information terminal 9 to the information processing server apparatus 23 or a prescribed connection destination; a power supply section 17 for supplying power to the information terminal 9; and a battery supply section 18 for backing up power when the supply to the power supply section 17 is interrupted, and when the battery supply section 18 supplies power, control of particular apparatuses is prioritized.
