PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control valve capable of easily controlling a flow rate regardless of the direction of the fluid flowing in a pipe conduit. SOLUTION: This control valve 10 is constituted to change an opposite area of an opening of a control flow channel 51 segmentalized by a valve element 40 and an opening of a valve element through passage 52 penetrated through the valve element 40, in accordance with a linear motion position of the valve element 40. Whereby a flow rate of the fluid flowing between pipe conduits 11A, 11B at both ends of the control fluid channel 51 can be controlled. As the valve element 40, the control flow channel 51, the valve element through passage 52 and a valve chest 50 have the symmetric shape with respect to a central line of the valve chest 50, controlling conditions are commonly applied to the flows in both directions of the fluid, and the control can be easily performed. As a central shaft 18 penetrated through a linear motion shaft member 20 and the valve element 40 is journaled by a body 13 and a cylindrical case 14 at its both ends in this control valve 10, the valve element 40 can be stabilized in comparison with a conventional needle-shaped valve journaled only at its one end.
