PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a metal clad material excellent in bonding strength without causing defects such as pinholes and without any increase in manufacturing costs, by rolling two or more metal materials in a pile to bond them. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the metal clad material by rolling two or more metal materials in a pile to bond them, the metal materials are subjected to surface roughening by rolling at least one of the faces of the metal materials to be bonded, by means of surface-roughened rolls prior to the rolling for bonding.
