A silver halide color photosensitive material for taking a photograph having a transparent support and, formed thereon, at least one respective photosensitive layer of red photosensitive layer, green photosensitive layer, blue photosensitive layer and non-photosensitive layer, characterized in that said at least one blue photosensitive layer contains a yellow coupler having a molar extinction coefficient of 23,000 or more, and the color photosensitive material exhibits an infrared transmission density at 950 nm of 1.7 to 3.5 and has a total amount of silver coating of 2.5 to 4.0 g/m<2>. The silver halide color photosensitive material is excellent in sharpness, desilvering property and the capability of detecting a film.
