<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery in which charge and discharge cycle characteristics can be improved. <P>SOLUTION: The battery comprises a wound electrode body 20 in which a positive electrode 21 and a negative electrode 22 are wound by a separator 23. The capacity of the negative electrode 22 includes a capacity component caused by the storage and release of Li, and a capacity component caused by the deposition and dissolution of a Li metal, and is expressed by the sum of the components. The negative electrode 22 contains a carbon substance which has a first peak in a range of 1,580 cm<SP>-1</SP>or more and 1,620 cm<SP>-1</SP>or less and a second peak in a range of 1,350 cm<SP>-1</SP>or more and 1,370 cm<SP>-1</SP>or less, respectively, in a Raman spectrum analysis using a argon laser beam of a wavelength of 5,145 nm and in which, when the intensity of the first peak is set as IA, the intensity of the second peak as IB, the ratio of the intensity IB/IA of the first peak and the second peak is 0.25 or more and 0.6 or less. Thereby, the efficiency of the deposition and dissolution of the lithium metal is improved and the charge and discharge cycle characteristics are improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
