<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric actuator along with a device equipped with it for improved durability. <P>SOLUTION: A piezoelectric element 52 is pasted on both surfaces of a reinforcing plate 51 to constitute a piezoelectric actuator 5. An abutting member 54, composed of materials whose hardness is higher than the reinforcing plate 51, is provided independent of the reinforcing plate 51. The abutting member 54 is made to abut with a moving body. When an piezoelectric element 52 is applied with a voltage to vibrate the piezoelectric actuator 5, the abutting member 54 repeatedly pressurizes the moving body for movement. Since the reinforcing plate 51 is separate from the abutting member 54, with the abutting member 54 having higher hardness than that of the reinforcing plate 51, the vibration of the piezoelectric element 52 is transmitted well to the reinforcing plate 51, while wearing of the abutting member 54 is prevented, resulting in improved durability of the piezoelectric actuator 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
