<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate image irregularity due to the speed irregularity of an image carrier caused by frictional sliding with a cleaning member. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with a photoreceptor 3, an exposure device 5, a developing means 8 having a developing roller and developing a formed latent image, in a state where it abuts on the photoreceptor 3, a primary transfer roller 13 transferring a developed toner image on the photoreceptor 3 to an intermediate transfer belt 12 by applying transfer bias in a state where it abuts on the photoreceptor 3, a photoreceptor cleaner 7 and a transfer belt cleaner 14. The developing roller is separated from the photoreceptor 3 so as to perform the development switching operation by the developing means 8, and the toner image being a measure image is formed on the belt 12 opposed to the photoreceptor 3 from which the developing roller is separated by the development switching operation before forming an image, then the blade of the belt cleaner 14 is separated at a position, where the toner image being the measure image is formed, so as to reform the toner image being the measure image on the belt 12, each time an output image is formed by specified number of times. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
