PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multimedia data processing apparatus and its method which allows to view multiple TV channels concurrently, in a moving video such that multiple digital multimedia signals are received from one input using a time-sharing technique and allows to decrypt and view multiple encrypted TV channels concurrently. SOLUTION: A TS input switch section receives multiple TS packets, corresponding to multiple digital multimedia data signals. A PID filter section receives the multiple TS packets from a transport stream input switch section and selectively passes only demultiplexing packets among the multiple TS packets. A first TS buffer section sequentially stores the TS packets output from the PID filter section. An external memory device, communicating with the unit stores some of the TS packets, is output from the PID filter section. A CA/CP section receives and decrypts the TS packet stored in the first TS buffer section, and also encrypts some of the decrypted TS packets for replication-protection in preparation for storage into the external memory device in case the first TS buffer section is full.
